Nature reserve De Schotsman
Nature reserve De Schotsman is within walking distance of your luxurious holiday villa. Hike through the nature reserve, along the marshes and dunes where the Highlands graze. This hike is approximately 6 km long. There are no comfortable paths, but you do discover the most beautiful spots this way. Upon request, you can also go on this hike with a forest ranger.
Nature reserve Oranjezon
You'll find Nature Reserve Oranjezon between Vrouwenpolder and Oostkapelle. This used to be a water extraction area, but nowadays it is a beautiful nature reserve with varied landscapes. Hike through the forests, the dunes, and over the beach. Enjoy the beautiful nature Nature Reserve Oranjezon has to offer. You might spot wild animals like horses, bovines, and deer. The blue hiking route offers the best opportunities to do so.

Spot seals at Neeltje Jans
Catch a fresh breeze on Neeltje Jans, an island halfway down the Oosterscheldekering. This nature reserve is one of the newest nature reserves in the Netherlands. It developed after the Stormvloedkering was built, and was formed by the weather and tides. Hike through the nature reserve and search for seals. Tip: the seals are often relaxing in the bay at the large windmill.
Hike over the Veere city walls and through the Veere forest
This hike is highly recommended. From the city walls you can enjoy a beautiful view over Veere and the Veerse Meer. Along the way you'll pass by various benches and fences, which have more information about the history of Veere.
Through the junctions you can follow, you can make the route as long or short as you prefer. Are you still not tired of the beautiful area around Veere? Continue your hike in the Veere forest.
Various hiking routes have been plotted here. The blue route is one of the favorites. Hike over various bridges and climb the watchtower. A really nice route for children.
Westhove Castle
Hike through the Manteling van Walcheren along water features, through the dunes, and through avenues surrounded by trees. There's lots of history to discover in this area. Visit the medieval castle Westhove, or follow the winding paths and discover traces from World War II. This area is not only loved by people, but also by animals. You'll find plenty of birds here, and fallow deer live here as well.
